Gangotri-Kedarnath trek

Has anyone ever trekked from Gangotri (mala) to Kedarnath? It is a old pilgrimage route.

I want to do this trek this summer, but I am wondering if I could do it alone without a guide or not? Is the path well defined? Also, how many days does it take to complete the trek? Is it possible to do it during monsoon?

If someone wants to join me, please let me know!
