i usually

ate inside my hotel, Hotel Relax where the food portions were huge and really clean!!!!Also the taste of the food wwas really nice.Apart from that, i ate in the local McDonalds where the food portions were ....tiny and really expensive!!!!Really expensive, even more expensive than here in Greece although i never eat in McDonalds.I also made some written complaints there, i got really angry because i ordered past with white mushroom sauce and they brought me a tiny portion of it{ eventually i had to order a second portion!!!!} and also i told them to bring me some parmesan cheese & they just brought a teaspoonful of parmesan!!!!!!I was astonished!!!Never going to eat there again, waste of money, just fooling people, nothing else.

Wink

I am surprised to find your quote- if you are a localite from dehradun than obviously you wont have written this, but if you are outsider than certainly what i can write here is- ppl who are travelling are concerned about accomodation and places to visit. How come you are worried about your tummy? Are you visiting ddun just for food?. Plz dont feel offended,,thats my humble request.

Cheers
Rupesh

m g, thanks for the info on Orchard, will check it out next time. I only saw the Rajpur park for the first time last year. I've eaten at Machan a few times but wudn't mind a change of scenery.

Question my reply to u-

Dear frnd,
This was your reply to me which reads as-(rupesh i am from d.dun ..studying in south India, and i am a food junkie...why did u think that a local chap wont write this ??)

Obviously my reply now-Ddun sums up in 5-6 km's range approximately when it comes to food courts or restaurants/xyz.... A better choice for u to enquire about food wud have been to ask a localite thru phone about the joints. Moreover claiming tht you are a food junkie,,u dont know the eatery in ddun?. Ain't you contradicting your own statement.? U mentioned tht you are a localite. I am sure you are in touch wid local frnds thru phones and other accessories. Sometimes utilizing internet for anything and everything doesn't seem a bright idea. I am sure being a localite you wud also guide and help the incomming travellers regarding hotels, eateries and other fun places. But its visa versa here-the ppl from outside ddun are writing back to you about the eatery places..seems bit awkward..isnt it pal? never-the-less its a good way of engaging ppl on net,,you even engaged me here..
i am holding both my ears in case u are irritated reading this...

Signing off!
Rupesh

Hi Rupesh. Just a suggestion, but unless asked for its probably not a good idea to sign off your posts with your email address. These can be picked up by any number of search engines trawling the net resulting in your email inbox getting filled with spam (if its isn't already).

What exactly are you on about, Rupesh?
m g hasn't asked anyone for recommendations, rather he's given a few. Maybe you are referring to the first post by costaguana.
I didn't understand your first post to start with, but what concern is it of yours what an "outsider" wants in DD? They may well be going on an eating tour!
I wud respond to your second post too, but considering you seem to have the IDs mixed up to start with, it wud be pointless.

Suffice to say that members are free to ask anything they want, including "local" members. If anything is considered inappropriate, management will take care of that. And what medium people shud be using, whether it's internet, phone, SMS, etc, is also best left to them to decide. For many of us, internet is actually cheaper than the others!
Hell, there have been requests for butlers even on this site, and that's not even the weirdest one! A local asking about eateries in his/her town doesn't fall into the weird category.
