M going to Allahbad this weekend for a frends marriage for 3 days and wondering what are the must see of the city.

There's a fort built by Akbar, which contains an Ashoka pillar. I found Anand Bhavan, the Nehru family home, also interesting. The Allahabad Museum has a fine collection of paintings, and terracotta figures. Khusru Bagh, a garden near the railway station, contains the tomb of Prince Khusru, Jehangir's son. A boat ride in the Ganga is another thing which people find interesting. Saraswati Ghat by the riverside is, I am told, quiet and pleasant. The old city area, known as the Chowk, is also worth visiting. If you have more time, Varanasi, Sarnath, and Lucknow, are a day trip away from Allahabad.
