Though I know it's a very common question to ask, but I need your help to make my Honeymoon memorable and pleasant. I am planning to have my honeymoon in Ooty. I will be leaving from Pune-bangalore-Ooty. I need experts help to make my itinerary. And how many days it will take to cover entire Ooty? How you feel about Coonur? Should I need to cover this place also?

Please please help me.

Thanks,
Pritam

I just chanced upon this website and am amazed that there is so much activity going on. I'm a native of Ooty but currently live overseas.

Regarding OP (Original Poster's) question, not sure when your trip is planned for but just want to let you know that Ooty during the months of April/May is extremely crowded due to the summer season and if you are expecting to enjoy some peace and quiet, it may not be possible especially around these two months. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy the place if you pick the right hotel and plan the type of activities that you are interested in.

Let me know the dates you are planning for and I can provide additional tips.

There used to be delux buses run by KSRTC during holiday season from April to June from Ooty to Bangalore earlier, I am not sure if they are running now.
The timings were leave Ooty at 9 p.m., 9.15 p.m., 9 a.m., and 8 a.m. and reach Bangalore at 5 a.m., 5.15 a.m., 5 p.m., and 4 p.m., respectively.
You would have to check with KSRTC
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation
General Traffic Manager
KSRTC Central Offices
K.H.Road
Banglore 2237465 / 2221321
gmtraffic@ksrtc.org

April/May is the season of the annual flower show in the Nilgiris and hotels may not be easily available or may charge a high premium.

Some of the good hotels in town that are not the typical "5 Star" but are decent enough are Hotel Nahar, Hotel Tamilnadu, Dasaprakash, Ooty Gate, Hotel Alankar, Woodlands etc. You may also check with the YWCA that offer cottages and rooms for relatively low rates and are pretty decent.

All these are within 1 to 2 Km radius from one another and to most of the tourist spots in and around town. It is possible to stroll from one end of town to the other without the need for public transport. But autos are easily available and although there is no concept of "Metered fare" in Ooty, it is quite reasonable.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
