unheard/unseen places in Ooty
unheard/unseen places in Ooty
Hi all,
I will be going on a trip to OOty from 7th June to 10th june. We (4 families consisiting of 10 adults, 3 children and 2 infants) will be travelling to get a break from our monotonous office lives. I have been to ooty for atleast 6 times. THis time though, i would love to explore some unseen places in and around Ooty apart from the usual Doddabetta, pykara, garden, coonoor stuff...can anyone suggest some spots that are enjoyable(with less crowd and non-commercialized)..i heard avalanche is good...any suggestions most welcome...
Thanks

Hi Aarosh..thanks for the reply but we already have the accomodations booked in ooty..and our tickets to and from Oooty are also booked..so we will be forced to roam in and around ooty only...how about upper bhavani? is it worth visiting?
More to do in ooty
Mukkurithi peak, upperbavani and avalanchi are the place where you find amazing nature view point, but make sure you dont take people who don't know to admire nature, since these days the expectation is beyond the limit.. my suggestion is to get some good picture from some ooty local travel agents before reaching those place, these place need forest department approval for visiting, and kodanadu view point are few place you can vist, elephant safari in mudumalai, Truckking in forest, night stay in-side forest, Toda people culture study these ting will be totally diffrent from usual ooty basic trip,
You can find some good resort in mid of forest like, Redhill resort, little earth, these are the resorts which is situated in mid forest with beatiful senary around it in Avalanchi.

If you can manage to get the requisite permissions, the following are some interesting places, Avalanche, Western Catchment (reminded me of Swiss), Silent Valley etc. You might check on Emerald Falls. This place is inside a tea plantation called Emerald Valley on the way to Avalanche. Nice falls, good for an excellent bath. But I don't know how you will find this place. Since you are a group of people, you can also check of the Rallia Dam. This is a check dam, the water resource of Coonoor and on the Coonoor Kotagiri Highway before Kattabettu. A nice place for a family picnic. You can also go to the Kotagiri, Kodanad areas to see the Kodanad View Point, Rangasamy Pillar etc. Feel free to revert for any clarifications.
