Trip to Ooty, Coonoor & Valparai. Have 2 options - which is the best one?

Hi,
I am planning for a trip to Ooty, Coonoor & Valparai in 2nd week of June.

Need to start my journey from Chennai. Have exactly 5 days. Let me know which option will be BEST?

Option 1:

CHENNAI TO METTUPALAIYAM - TRAIN

METTUPALAIYAM TO COONOOR BY TAXI
SIGHTSEEING AT COONOOR
SAMEDAY TO OOTY
NIGHT HALT AT OOTY
2ND DAY - SIGHTSEEING AT OOTY
SAMEDAY TRAVEL BACK TO COIMBATORE
NIGHT HALT AT COIMBATORE
3RD DAY- TRAVEL TO VALPARAI BY TAXI
SIGHTSEEING AT VALPARAI
NIGHT HALT AT VALPARAI
FINISHING THE SIGHTSEEING AT VALPARAI
RETURN BACK TO COIMBATORE
TAKING TRAIN FROM COIMBATORE TO CHENNAI.

OPTION 2:

CHENNAI TO COIMBATORE
NIGHT HALT AT COIMBATORE
2 DAYS PACKAGE DEAL TO OOTY & COONOOR
RETURN BACK TO COIMBATORE
HALT AT COIMBATORE
1 DAY PACKAGE DEAL TO VALPARAI
RETURN FROM COIMBATORE TO CHENNAI

Thanks

Padma.

Pls. take into consideration that from the first week of June the onset of the monsoon season will impact your travel and your sightseeing plans at Ooty and Coonoor. More so in Ooty than Coonoor. And it definitely won't be easy going around when it is constantly raining.

Just something to keep in mind!

I am not all done about my tour and maybe Ooty would be considered. I will be there next June. You meant to say that Ooty is not a good idea in that time due to constant rain? thanks for the help

Thanks for the update. I have made my decision. Planning to visit only Valparai this time as I am running short of time. I am watching the weather constantly. So whatever be the weather, I am still making my plans to go there. I heard it will be even more beautiful when it is raining.

Will post you all the pictures after my trip!

Thanks

Padma

On your way to Valparai, if you are spiritual, have a look at the Vedathri Maharishi ashram (it is just before beginning of ghat road).. Also, you can jump into Monkey falls as well as Balaji Temple... But a bad news for you - monsoon is likely to set in 5 days in advance..

Yes, once the monsoon has set, Ooty is not all that nice a place to visit especially for those who like the outdoors. The constant rain would leave very little to desire and you would end up remaining indoors most of the time.
