Trip to Coonoor

Hello friends,

I have planned my trip to ooty for 3 days. All hotels there in ooty says we are booked, so I tried hotel in coonoor - Hotel Vivek.

- Now is it a good decision to stay at coonoor rather than ooty??
This is my 1st visit to ooty, So i dont know anything about it..

- how to reach to coonoor from ooty, I'll be going to ooty by KSRTC from bangalore.

- How to plan for site scene??

- OR I must have to boom room in ooty instead of coonoor, to visit ooty??? (Because my hotel will be in coonoor and every time i'll be coming to ooty, spending some time in ooty and again i'll be going to coonoor, also I dont know about transportation)

If you been there ooty/coonoor please guide me.

I'll be highly obliged...
Thanks..

Hey,

Chill. Ooty to coonoor is just 15 to 20 minutes travel by bus and I would say, you are better off staying in coonoor than ooty as ooty is more commercialized than coonoor. And moreover coonoor has more sight seeing spots than ooty.

From ooty, You have regular buses plying to coonoor and you also have toy train which runs from both the directions.

Enjoy your trip to ooty.

This is a late reply, but I only just came across this thread. To clarify one very important point raised: Ooty to Coonoor is 20km. Even the best busses take around 45mins at the least! Going by car or taxi you can cut down the journey time a bit but never to under 30 mins. Remember, this is a very busy mountain road with many bends. Overtaking can be tough!

Also the train takes around an hour.
