No Toy Train To Ooty Since Long

This is the answer of the Tamil Nadu Tourist Babas from few hours ago.
Don't believe anyone somewhere: "TRain will go for sure!"

Only 50 minutes Conor - Ooty - nothing special-it is with a DIESEL engine. The LOCO part (3 hours) DOES NOT GO:

I am not god in registrations, I am living here. So-YOU please tell to the many people what everyone who knows irctcco.in or indianrail.gov.in could know:
NOT TOY TRAIN TO OOTY AGAIN.

From Conoor to Ooty and vice versa (20 per cent of the journey) there is a DIESEL moving. Nie, nothing special...
The smooking Loco does not move. Don't believe any station master elswhere.

Betreff: Re: URGENT Ooty toy train

Sir,
As of now, the operation of the toy train is suspended because of the landslide last month. It may renew as soon as the work is over.
Regards,
TTDC

A somewhat confusing post, but that part of the world has been badly affected by weather of late.

Just a few weeks ago it suffered severe monsoon rainfall, causing landslides, tree-falls, and even road bridges washed away.

Last week it was snowing there.

So I'm not at all surprised to hear that the train is not running just now: can anyone give the status of road access to Ooty?

I haven't yet travelled by that train --- but I understand that the advantage of the diesel engine is that it actually reaches the top rather than breaking down on the way !
