I'm not sure of all the transport connections here - do you intend driving yourself, going by train and bus, using a plane?
Coorg is the one place I don't know - if there's a bus between there and Ooty for instance? Your route would probably be train to Bangalore, bus to Mysore, bus to Coorg - Ooty - Kodaikanal - Coimbatore and train back from there.
For Kodaikanal, it would be nice for you to stay in one of the cottage rooms at Villa Retreat (it was called Taj Villas when I stayed there). It has wonderful views and a garden and is close to Coaker's walk. A perfect place for a honeymoon.

hi shri rangan,

it is not ideal to add kodai in your tour plan... because of very long bour travelling to kodai from either place..

instead of kodai, you can easily add wayanad..beautifuly located in between ooty and coorg.

my suggestion is,ooty-wayanad-coorg-mysore-bangalore.. or vice versa..

kodai is almost same as ooty.. so you dont worry about missing kodaikanal..

if you tell me your landing place and leaving place ,i will make itinerary for you.

Yes, I second suresh.. Suresh's idea is good and By leaving Kodai , you are avoiding a lot of travel Hassles as such and you could spend time in more virgin place like coorg and Wayanad !..

Shri, If you could specify the mode , Place of Arrival and Departure, We could help you with our ideas / Experiences /Recommendations

I have to agree - that journey between Ooty and Kodaikanal was indeed a 'very long bore'! Also rather hot down there on the plains - I was so glad when we started to climb the Palani Hills. By coincidence I was the only single women in a bus full of honeymoon couples! They certainly kept me entertained for the journey, were a lot of fun, and we had good chats. Many of them slept for quite a distance, so they wouldn't have been bored.
None of it was too boring for me, because this was my first visit to India, and I found everything interesting. But, yes, it is a long day's journey. But for me it was worth it. I stayed 10 days in Kodaikanal and loved it.

hi,

hi rangs,

ok fine, if u wish kodai, for around 15 days, it will be possible to tour
around your favourities..

day.1: madurai.
1.meenakshi temple,
2.murugan idli shop(for famous soft idli and variety of chatni`s)located
nearly meenakshi temple.
3. nellai sweat shop for HALWA(outside the RLY station)just walk away from
rly station and ask anybody. dont miss this tasty halwa.

day.2:traveling to kodai.take rest in room. you have easily select the
rooms as per your taste.my advise is,select slightly outside the bus stand.

day:3:local and hot spots.. cookers walk, pillar rock,lake,park,etc...stay in kodai

day:4: if u like light trek(around 3 kms),try to visit RAM paarai(ram rock)on
the way to berijam road. and then try to visit, mannavanur, poom paarai,a little
villages of kodaikanal dont miss this day`s recommendation.stay in kodai

day:5.i dont know the bus timings,if u start in morning earlierly,i would
suggest to go to coimbatore for ~ISHA YOGA CENTRE~ visit.very calm place
to expore the lord shiva temple.dont miss it. around 40kms from coimbatore.evening stay in coimbatore.
this is because a reason of avoiding lonnnnnnnnnng travelling slightly.

day.6:start earlierly in morning and then go to ooty.may be you will reach
at around 2-4 pm.here also i would suggest not to stay in hotels, try outside
the city.here my suggestion is,INDU NIVAS. a guest house located nearby
INDU PHOTO FACTORY. they prepared home type foods.if u dont like it,you
can easily select in ooty as per your taste.in evening,go to botonical
garden.

day:7:hot spotsark,lake,dottebetta,ros e garden etc.(in my opinion,avoid
this touristy place) instead of this, you will try to visit pykara dam.this
one is also a touristy, but less crowd and try to visit glenmorgan.stay in
ooty.

day:8: morning go to mudhumalai wildlife santuary and try wild visit
aranged by forest dept. and then go to WAYANAD(kalpetta) by car only.it
will take around 70-80 kms from mudhumalai.stay in kalpetta.here you can
select the hotels.

day:9: visit pookote lake(7kms),edakkal caves(35 kms).both are worthy places
and then to `VARNAM HOMESTAY`.around 50 kms travelling, located nearby kuruva
island.i strongly recommend this homestay for delicious home made, self cropped
kerala type food and village life of kerala people.here is the link..this
homestay is located on the way to coorg.so,you can easily go to coorg from
here..stay in varnam homestay.they charged around 1800 per day for couple
with full meals.they treated us like our family members.and also they
are very familier with english.

http://www.varnamhomestay.com/

day:10:try to visit, kuruva island from varnam homestay.its just 5 kms from
there.and walk around that homestay and enjoy the village areas.evening
again you stay in varnam homestay.

day:11:morning earlierly,go to nagarhole(around 30 kms) wildlife sanctuary.and
then go to madikeri(coorg) around 70 kms from nagerhole.there you will go
to `CAPITOL VILLAGE`.around 5 kms before madikeri from nagerhole, here is the
address, they charged for me around 1300 per day without meals.this place
is surrounded by full of coffee estates.you will definitely like this place
again my advice is dont stay in hotels.

CAPITOL VILLAGE HOLIDAY RESORT 3rd Mile, Madikeri-Siddapur Road, Madikeri - 571201 Fax : 08272 229455, Ph: 08272 225492 Email : capitolvillage@rediffmail

day:12:visit hot spots,talacauvery(worth),abby falls(not a special),raja
seat(not a special).if u tired, just stay in capitol village and walk around
this estates.stay in capitol village.

day:13:morning earlierly, vacate capital village and go to dubare elephat camp before 9 am,
and then go to BYLEKUPPE budhist monestry on the way to mysore.both are worth place.
and then go to mysore.

day:14,15,16 mysore and bangalore.i havnt much familier with those places
sorry about this.

if u feel, one day extension is difficult, avoid coimbatore or bangalore for one
day.

from kodaikanal, i would strongly suggest take a cab.. atleast from ooty
cab is must for all places to explore.

if any other doubts, dont hesitate to post me,...

for honey valley resort, it is located in thick jungle interior from madikeri
for a honey moon and long trip, capitol village is enough to explore coffee
estates.so avoid honey valley.

for homestay, advance booking is must.dont miss that places, especially,VARNAM]
HOMESTAY AND CAPITOL VILLAGE.
