First of all thanks to all the IMs for their helpful suggestions and advices. I've recently returned from Garwal. This post never be possible without the inspiration of great IM ''mosederbaer''; This part of photo-story includes Sarigaon, Deoria Tal,Chopta, Tungnath & Chandrasila.

We didn't book any car from Hardwar/Rishikesh for our entire trip. We just hired and fired the car. As per as my little experience; those who want to stay their destinations one night or more, this plan works fine for them. Besides, friends who are planning to go Garhwal with a tight budget, it helps them too. And this plan helps me to buy an extra lance for my camera.

We Started our trekking from Kedar after the sunrise with the hope we'll manage to reach Guptkashi by evening. At Gaurikund, we grab two rooms at Bharat Sevashram Sangha. After a pleasant hot bath at 'kund' and the gargantuan lunch we felt alike mammoth.

WE reached Guptkashi at 16:30 and planed to move further to Ukhimath. But we made it withing 17:00. Ukhimath seemed to me a dull place to waste one valuable night there. WE again decided to Sari Gaon. So I made a visit to Mr. P Negi (elder brother of Lakhpat Sing Negi) who've a shop there and got confirm at Sari Gaon rooms'll be available for us in ''Deoria Tourist Lodge'' run by Lakhpat & family. We finally reached there by 18:00.

Well! This is embarrassing! The board written in Bengali! But it helps tourist from Bengal.

In this context I'd like to know you all; we made this huge distance from the top of chilled Kedar to cool Sari Gaon by 10Hrs with 3.5hrs lunch break and 175 bucks each.

This is the lodge of Lakhapat'ji just opposite the entry gate to Deoria Tal.

For those who are planning to reach there without hiring car, its advised to book a car from Ukhimath. There are lots of maps may confused you, Sari Gaon is on the Ukhimath-Chopta-Chamoli Road. Fact is the village is on the 2.5 km extended dead end road from Ukhimath-Chamoli Road. Simply don't expect any public transport. But there is a 'service bus' reached Sari at around 18:00 coming from Rudraprayag daily. Please note that bus will not be available during 'Yatra' season.

Before proceed to Deoria Tal few more info. Those who cant consider luxury this place is not for them to stay at night. Accommodations are very basic there but there hearties welcome will warm you up.

One good news is Lakhapat building (40% constructed) a new three star category hotel just opposite of his Deoria Tourist Lodge.

Just beside Lakhatap's lodge, there is Sunil Tourist Palace, cost between Rs 400-600 per DB room, is little bit better. This guys also provide tent accommodation on Deoria Tal.

Leave your extra luges at Sari Gaon.......its safe and free of charge.

Have good look on the rates by forest department.

Sari Gaon to Deoria Tal is about 2.5 km only. But the entire trek is elevated 70 degree. So its too tough and takes time for the un-hardcore trekker like us. Do carry water and chocolates. But dont worry non-trekkers! Pony available from Sari Gaon cost between 400-600 bucks.

Shiva Temple and the Sari Gaon on the top.

Al last here we are.........Breeze making designing carpet on the lake

Here are my true LOVEs.........wife & the Himalaya.

A perfect place to rest & relax for every one

Well! Have a break and have some boring info.......while you are planing to stay night there on tent:

1. Book it in advance.......there only two big tents having toilet facilities, while other small tents dont have.......but dont worry lots of deep & dark bushes there

2. Do carry long life powerful torch

3. Make sure you have your medication

4. Bring enough woolens or so

5. Birds/animal lover must carry binocular and must avoid talkative tourists

6. If you sure you dont get iron-leaver, avoid semi-cooked food and water from mug/jug/drum..........buy package water........water of the Tal is the only source of water here.

7. And lastly, avoid local-made-liqueur offered by the "RESTAURANT" guy, best bring your won.

Chowkhamba getting ready for the sunset show

Chowkhamba......in full bloom

Now just enjoy the sunset show:

______________________________ ______________________________ ___

Lakhapat Sing came to stay here at night to make sure our comfort.

I just cant control my self to suggest tune your Deoria Trip with full moon night.......it'll be awesome.

Now its Sunrise time:

______________________________ ______________________

Its my tent....think Lakhapat didnt mind what mess we did it with

Finally the time comes to say good buy the place

Code:
Towards Chopta

Lakhapat was driving us to Chopta, but the car stuck before 15km ahed. Me and Lakhapat applied our every knowledge to solve it but in vain. Problem never comes alone.......he forgot his mobile in office at Sari and tried mine by climbing up the hill to get signal for a back up from his home.......but my BSNL betrayed too.

He made his mind its must be due to out of petrol........passing by vehicles are very very rare in this route.......so he didnt take any risk.........in exchange of his only stepney tyre Lakhapat'ji managed two litter oil.

two hrs gone.......we are planning what to do next

Lakhapat'ji trying his best

Even more out of his best

Next part of the story was not so smooth...........as the traffic was very rare in this road and having tow of my German friends we were not getting lift........then I left them with Lakhapat and found my self as spiderman hanging & bouncing at the back of a jeep (coz its fully packed with 10 tourists) to Dolna village......made a phone call to local PS..........took our rest of journey on a police van to Chopta.

Code:
Tungnath-Chandrasila

We made it upto Chandrasila before sunrise......but got very cloudy.......my heart cracked into pieces

This is Tungnath..........still I couldn't believe......and I promising myself to come back here tomorrow again

Tungnath Mahadev

Back at Chopta

Cloudy but gracious

Quarreling to blame whom!!

Next day morning we dropped the idea to revisit Chandrasila due to thick cloudy weather........proved later it was wise.........those who returned from Chandrasila got nothing

Would you believe it was 11:30!!!

This is Chopta/Bazaar/bus stand

Hotel Neelkanta and the entry gate to Tungnath

This is a balcony view from hotel Neelkantha

Here & there in Chopta

And please input your valuable suggestions coz I'm going to visit again on May/June 2012 again.

Thanks for scrolling your mouse and view on such a big post.

@ sreejaya

Big tent cost Rs 1000 and small one Rs. 600

Basic foods are available, e.g. rice, chapati, dal, potato fry, egg, khichdi, tea, chips, cold drink, package water etc. and on special demand chicken too. But keep in mind that food are prepared with water from Deoria Tal; so make sure its boiled enough.

To book accomodation, call one of them. Get confirmation of your desire day (I'll suggest to go on full moon) and drop 30%-50% cash on their given A/c and later confirm it again over the phone and bring the counter part of banking receipt while you are there.

Right now I dont have the no. of Neelkantha, I'll provide it later. Actually I booked it through my agent:

http://www.diatravels.com/

I'll suggest, if you are not going during Durja Puja festival, no need to book in advance.
