I do not think you need to book ahead for rafting unless you are taking a package of camping and rafting.
There are quite a few operators in Kaudiyala/Shivpuri I hear.
We're planning to stay @ Kaudiyala GMVN for a night and go for rafting the next day.GMVN arranges I suppose.

And there aren't any requirements as such.Just keep spare clothes ready for getting wet!

Heavy snowfall at Chopta,Tungnath, Chandrashilla yesterday, Nov 20. Road closed 3km beyond Duggalbitta. You can walk to Chopta and beyond but be prepared for rations and camping.I called up the hotels at Chopta and they have all closed. I am going that side Nov 27 to Nov 30. Group of 4. Planning to stay Ukhimath and do a day trek to as far as possible.

Could you please pass on the number of the people you talked to?
That would be of great help!
Any idea if I can go from Dugalbitta to Joshimath?I guess the road is closed now..
Is there any other way I can go to Joshimath from Dugalbitta?

I called the numbers of chopta hotels from the Tungnath trek section and from Chopta section of the Outlook traveler uttarakhand guide book. I do not have the book with me right now.
From Duggalbitta to Joshimath, you have to come back to Rudraprayag and then travel via chamoli.
Why dont you go to Gopeshwar instead of Duggalbitta and from there attempt as far as you can go towards chopta. Then retrace back to Joshimath via Gopeshwar. Also, the snow is fresh.Ask some experienced trekkers here whether it would be advisable or possible to attempt Tungnath at this stage.
i have changed my visit schedule for later.

i have changed my visit schedule for later.
I called up Mayadeep guest house at Dugalbitta and he said the road is open again(supposedly snow has melted)
It is possible to walk to Chopta from Dugalbitta through the forests(in case road is blocked)..it's a short hike of 2 hrs.
I do not know of any route from Gopeshwar side.So I would still stick to dugalbitta side.
And if you have a guide and you are willing to trudge through snow it is possible to go till tungnath.
