Annapurna Sanctuary (ABC) - Aug. 12-23, 2009

I know this is the middle of monsoon season, but a few leeches and rain only adds to the experience.

Here's my itinerary:

Aug. 9 - Fly into KTM
Aug. 10- KTM-Pokhara
Aug. 11- Procure supplies, hire guide, etc.
Aug.12-23 - Trek ABC (one "spare" day built in)
Aug. 24 - Pokhara-KTM
Aug. 25 - KTM
Aug. 26 - Fly out of KTM

If anyone's interested in joinin, I'd love the company. Honestly, I anticipate a somewhat relaxed pace, and I expect to be sore (it's been awhile since I last trekked).

Also, any advice others have (who have done the trek in monsoon / Aug.), especially in terms of trail conditions, likelihood of landslides, etc. would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm also planning for this trek....but I'll be doing complete Annapurna Circuit & Sanctuary rather than just visiting base camp.I'm thinking about starting from Pokhara on 26th October 2009. Total trek duration will be of around 20 days .I'm also looking forward to do it at relaxed pace as this time I'll be accompanied by friend/s.If anyone else on a similar path they can gladly join us...we would love to have some company !

Anyone want to join a trek in Nepal late Oct/early Nov 2009?

Hey all,

This is my first time posting here, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong spot or this is in some way inappropriate...

I'm looking for anyone who might be interested in joining up with me to do a trek in Nepal starting sometime in late October or early November and lasting 14-19 days or so. I'm really interested in doing the (oft-called) Annapurna-Dhaulagiri trek, am open to either camping or teahouses (though I think a combo would be awesome, if perhaps impractical), and would like to start, at the earliest, Oct. 28 and/or be back at the latest around Nov. 22. I'm a first-time high altitude trekker but am in relatively good shape (semi-regular runner, hiker, rock climber). I would like to trek in a group with others!

I'm looking at these companies/itineraries:
Mountain Monarch (gets great reviews) http://www.mountainmonarch.com/trekk...agiri_trek.htm
Cultural Treks (recommended by Backpacker mag?) http://www.culturaltreks.com/trekkin...haulagiri.html
They both seem like reasonable prices compared to some of the other outfitters.

Neither of them are offering the dates I'd like, but they will customize dates if I find at least one other person interested (though I'd love more!). So let me know if you are...

I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has experience with these companies or others doing this trek, or thoughts on my plan.

I plan to do Annapurna base camp starting end of sept 2009 for about 14-16 days. Anybody planning ABC around that time?
