This is an opening post of a general thread where other people can post their requirements. As of now, one cannot create a new thread in this particular section, hence this Opening Post. You may post your requirement for Nepal partners here ...

nadreg is the boss of IndiaMike, and AFAIK, is not going trekking anywhere in the near future.

EBC next month anyone?

Hello, I'm planning to do the Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC) next month - from Sept13th to 28th (Lukla - EBC - Lukla). I will most probably doing the trek alone, but would love some company. I'm from Bangalore and have reasonable Himalayan trek experience.

Do PM me if you are keen to join.

Hi All,

I am planning to do the Everest Base Camp trek in mid November and may be island peak climbing at the end of the month. I want to avoid organized travel/travel companies if possible and looking for people who may be interested in trekking together.

Also can anyone recommend good travel companies, cheap and reliable, that takes payment in INR or NR instead of USD.

Thanks
Rohan

Hi Priti Noronha,

I'm planning to go to Sikkim by 24th Feb & coming back by 10-11th March. I'm looking for partners as i feel going alone might be slightly dangerous. Would you be interested? I would prefer to make a small group of 3-5 people if possible.

Possible places of trekking would be Yuksom - Dzongri trek and if time permits site seeing other places as well.

Tibet/ Nepal Trip - Mt Everest Base camp

Hi All,

I am Vinay from Mumbai, 33 male, currently working as an electronics engineer for a Mfg firm.

I wish to travel to Tibet somewhere in may, as that is the best season.
We may have one more frient of mine with me..

I plan trip as foll-
We leave by train to Patna, reach to Kathmandu by Bus (6 hours drive). From there we have to arrange for China Visa & Tibet permit through some local tour operator.

From there we may take a direct bus to Lhasa (3 days jourey) with all inclusive cost of INR 3500/- which was to start this year by china govt. However if this bus service in not started we have to take a jeep safari (per seat basis) to Lhasa.

This is normally as follows-

Day 1- Kathmandu - Zhangmu(or Nyalam) 5h (6miles away from fr bridge)
Day 2- Zhangmu(or Nyalam)- Rongphu
Day 3- (from here go to Everest BC - road 7hr to rongbuk and then 1 day trek to Everest BC (North end in Tibet) & Return same day)
Day 4-Day 8 Rongphu - Xegar- Shkya - Xigatse - Shalu - Gyantse - Lahasa
Day 9-Day 12 Lhasa (from here go by rail to golmud and return to lhasa)

(Lhasa - Lhatse is one Night Journey)
(Lhatse - Nyalam - Kathmandu IS one Night Journey)

Main attaraction to the journey will be Visit to Mt everest Base camp & World's highest train journey (Lhasa to Golmud & return)

We also have consider one worst case scenario, In case of non availability of Chinese visa we will not let the tour die out, instead we can go treking to the Mt Everest (south end ) whcich lies in Nepal, without any visa. Though this route includes a longer trek program of about 7 days but is the experience of life...

Most of the journey will be through untouched routes of Tibet & will get feel the authentic tibetian & Chinese mainland. Regarding the sieghts enroute, I think this need not be explained to a true traveller..

Hi Vish1479,
I'm going to West Bengal & Sikkim for trekking, leaving on 14th March and returning back on 28th Mar. Your group could join me if interested but plz let me know soon.
I would suggest if you're interested in Nepal, then check with explorers india, isha tours and jungle lore, they should be able to guide you if they're not arranging for a trip to Nepal.
Explorers India has a trip to Nepal going in 1st week of May and it seems like a budget trip.
