Plan 2 visit VOF and HS during 03-10 August.
Haridwar-Joshimath-VOF-HS.
Dont want to trek alone. Is there somebody having similar plans and interested to join me?

You could join up with others who are trekking to different mountains. VOF is a well-frequented route. You will most likely find many trek partners at Ghangharia.

Read up the other general posts on VOF and you will have an idea about other members' plans

If you are fit enough, no need to stay in Joshimath.

Acclimatization is necessary when you are sleeping at high altitude. Here you will have to return the same day from VOF coz of restrictions.

Easy trek. Maybe moderate for beginners.

Hi,
I can join you from delhi. I am a newbie and have no idea about the trek. Better to have a group of 4-8. Let me know if it works out. I am ok with the dates.

shehzad- That post was for Aug-2008 trek !!

You can create a new post to find partners for this year's trek... If you want to go alone, you need to travel to Haridwar/Rishikesh and take a bus to Gobindnagar (this is between Joshimath and Badrinath)...Accommodation in Gurdwara here... Next morning it is a 14km trek to Gobindghat... Accommodation again in Gurdwara...Hemkund-sahib is a steep 6 km climb... You have to return back the same day to Gobindghat... Valley of flowers is a 3-4 km trek again... best season July/august for VoF... if you are fit enough, you can trek to Valley of flowers the same day from Gobindnagar....

hi !!! to all those who look for trek parteners . Why dont you just join groups already going to say valley of flowers or wherever .That way you can find solitute easily. just put on your ear plugs and enjoy. Just imagine the horror or boredom of being stuck to someone new who you cant stand and discover that too late.

if you are referring to the GMVNL package, it sounds expensive at 8k per person

Hi burf., i have just come back from this package . it was 7 days 7 nights from rishikesh where i took a train to from Delhi. Went to VOF, Hemkund and badrinath too besides day trips to auli and Ganeshji's cave ,and ved Vyas cave and lost river Saraswati , shankarcharyas Math etc etc . I thought 8 K was o.k. . Though Gurudwaras along the way looked as good to me .If u like u can try that . i might next time.

Whatever u do , dont miss Hemkund at this time .. it has 10 times the flowers that VOF has , including Brahm Kamals. By the way, Hemkund closes on 15th Sept and Gangharia on 5th October according to the locals there.

Have a great trip but hurry and go , if u want to go this year.
