I think we will get the real picture after reaching their..Becouse oct is pick time
then what they will demand we never know.But u r right that porter is enough.
From njp to yoksum---i think total time will take 6+ hr.We might reach their
5pm or later..so we will only get 2 to 3 hours to arrange every thing..
what do u think..is that much time enough 4 every thing.

if we can start early around 10:00 am then we will reach Yaksom latest by 4 pm and we will have 4 pm to 7pm, 3hr time. in between that time we have to find Porter, Yak, make a settlement with them, take permission and entry pass for all and then go to market for buying ration etc. let's see, what happens.

My leave has been sanctioned, and I am in the process of booking my tickets. Since I have to visit a friend in Amritsar, I'm planning to reach Yuksom via Bagdogra. Do any shared jeeps ply between Bagdogra and Yuksum, or do I have to go to NJP to catch one? Also, would it cost the same from Bagdogra to Yuksom in a shared jeep?

Added later: By which train are you returning to Kolkata? Just noticed there's a long waiting list. Would it be possible to reach NJP by around 3.30 PM on Oct 13th? I plan to catch the 7.30 AM flight back to Blore.

Supratim, this is avishek from kolkata, of course a new member of this blog.We are also going Goechala on 2nd october 2008 and looking for trekking partner because two member of our group are not able to join with us due to their personal problem.though we have some prvious independent trekking experiences like valley of flowers, hemkund sahib, panch kedar,deoria tal,varsay etc. but this time we want to take a different taste by making a littlebit larger group to make our trip more enjoyable as well as to reduce expenses.
Is it feasible for you to make the plan successful together ?Waiting for your positive reply.
