Thanks Arindam,

So a tentative group have been formed and now we should meet with each other for other things and itineraries. Tell me a suitable place and day when we can meet.

I've already checked for train tickets and all have already waiting lists . Anyway we still have option for NBSTC/SBSTC Rocket Bus Services, by which we can reach within 8:00 AM.

Waiting for your reply.

Day 1 3rd Oct: Board Train(Sealdah)/Bus(Esplanade) for NJP/SNT
Day 2 4th Oct: Reach NJP Station/SNT Bus Stand -> Yaksom by share jeep -> Stay, arrange guide-porter, permits, utensils, ration etc.
Day 3 5th Oct: Yaksom - Tsoka
Day 4 6th Oct: Tsoka - Dzongri
Day 5 7th Oct: Dzongri - Thansing
Day 6 8th Oct: Thansing - Zemathang
Day 7 9th Oct: Zemathang - Goecha La - Samiti
Day 8 10th Oct: Samiti - Kokchurang
Day 9 11th Oct: Kokchurang - Tsoka
Day 10 12th Oct: Tsoka - Yaksom
Day 11 13th Oct: Yaksom - Shiliguri - Board Train/Bus at night
Day 12 14th Oct: Reach Kolkata at morning

It can be done in 12 days (though no reserve day and a bit hectic, still doable).

3rd - We can start after attending office - No leave
4th - Saturday - No leave
5th - Sunday - No leave
6th - Saptami - No leave
7th - Ashtami - No leave
8th - Navami - No leave
9th - Dashami - No leave
10th - Leave
11th - Leave
12th - Leave
13th - Leave
14th - Leave

So as per my assumption, we have to take only 5 days leave.

What you say??

count me in

Hi Supratim/Arindam,
About time I finalized my Himalayan trek.I would like to join you guys for the Goecha La trek. The timing and schedule sounds good.
Initially I was intending to do either Roopkund or Hampta Pass and Chandratal. But I haven't managed to find anybody going there in Sept-Oct. No regrets though!! Whether western or eastern Himalayas, I love them all the same. Plus, I always wanted to visit Sikkim.
Now the only hard part will be convincing my manager to grant me leave

Let me know if you guys are OK with having me in the team.

Hey Arindam,
I am not as lucky as you. Being a Bangalore techie, I get an off only on Oct 2nd and 9th. So for me, I would need to demand atleast 7-8 days leave, and I hope I can convince my Manager. Will get it confirmed by tomorrow, or max by Monday.
Btw, it will not be feasible for me to meet up with you guys anytime before the trek. I cant come all the way to Kolkata, nor can you guys come here Unless you wanna trek the Nilgiris/ Coorg, in which case you can make Bangalore your base

Plz. check the modified PDF file for itinerary details.

Actually there is no need for a so called Guide on Goecha-La route, routes are almost well marked and porters are enough to guide up to Goecha-La.

So inspite of 1 Guide and 2 Yaks I considered 2 Porters and 1 Yak. Budget will be cheaper and also porters will cook for us .

Total cost come down to below 6000/-.

Roy_supratim05: Excellent details in your PDF; you are very meticulous!

I am tempted to join your trek Would have joined too (since my last trek there, got aborted at Dzongri) had it not clashed with some other program in those October dates.

Best Wishes on your Trek!
