5th January Dalhousie should be well and truly snowed in, you'll probably have to walk from Banikhet . . . Good trekking shoes are essential, Goretex or some water proof material is very helpful when walking on snow. A wind proof outer layer, fleece inners and a few sets of cotton shirts and pants does it for me . . . a muffler, cap and gloves are also welcome in the cold!
