hey guys, I had called the guy in the brochure and it says all the seats for all the days are already booked!

looks like we got to organize private treks i guess. . .

YHAI trek costs- 5800

The next cheapest YHAI Trek is by peacetrips(dot)com

Peace Trip cost- 7000

peacetrips.com/vof.html

If anybody knows any other VOF trek organizers for a good rate, do let us all know!
Cheers!

I just got back today after doing VOF and Hemkunt Sabhib. And not a drop of rain on those four days! However it was raining when I left Joshimath yesterday morning.

i am leaving for valley of flowers after 2 more sleeps! wanted to do the trek with YHAI, but since it's all booked out, planning to do it on our own. My mother and sister will be accompanying me as well.

Would really like some advice on lodging in govind ghat and gangria as I have not booked any accomodation at all since I heard that accomodation will be available. What do you think Mridula? Was gangria crowded ?

Since I'm coming with my mother and sister, I am very much anxious about their safety as well. Any advice on being on the safe side is very much appreciated .

Thanks a lot guys! Indiamike has been really helpful on my himalayan journeys!

No Raja Ghangaria was not crowded. I stayed at Kuber Hotel which is in front of the Gurudwara. The horsemen and the horses stay at the end so many people like to avoid that because of the stink it creates. As of now I got a room with three beds for 600 the lodge was reasonably clean.

I stayed at Joshimath rather than Govindghat and then took a jeep ride to Govindghat which is one hour and then went to trek straight away. Hope this helps a bit.
