YHAI sar pass trek

hi all..
i made enquiries with Mr. Avinash Kamath of Avi Industries, Mumbai and found him very helpful in addressing my querries.. i made a specific querry to him regarding which rucksack i should go in for for the purposes of YHAI treks.. he advised me to go in for a 40 lts. rucksack or max 60 lts. rucksack as these are very sufficient for the purposes of YHAI treks.. however, as i was planning to do some backpacking in and around India, i decided to go in for a 80 + 20 lts. rucksack.. its red & orange in colour and i purchased it from Avi Industries itself.. too bad, it was the last piece available with them as they have now stopped manufacturing rucksacks having that capacity..

Hi Ambrish thanks for your inputs, but u wud be surprised to know that it was just today that I had been to this place(AVI) before I read ur reply. Guess I am late coz now he just has two models left with him. One priced at 1000 odd, which is not quite appealing. The other one is abt 5000......thats almost double the price of the whole trek. Nothing in between. The next shipment will arrive only by the 25th. Cant wait that long. Is there any other place u r aware of ? Thanks !!

hi mahesh..
i m from nagpur and i m joining sar pass trek from 15 may onwards.. 25 may will be the day when our camp disperses.. we have a theoritical chance of meeting at the base camp on 25 may morning..

Hi Ananth and others...

I see that the trek route for Saar Pass trek has been changed. Also, the total distance covered during the trek has been reduced.

I hope that the new route lives up to all our expectations!

just to share with you that if one follows the basic mountain
rules and can apply mental strength,if need be,which is mightier than physical one,then every trek is enjoyable and rewarding.

hi everybody...
i am booked in sp-9/yhai this summer.once ihad been to tosh valley in 2005 on our expedition to mt.papsura high above east tosh glacier and it was an amazing xperience.green mountain with
relentless rain in last part of september.but the region is very enjoyable..to share info with u..u get laundry facility at kasol only....battery charging aids at base camp but not on higher camps....drink water a lot to maintain hydration level and sugerystuff to maintain energy level...mental strength will lead u overcome all the obstacles...guys n gals...happy trekking..

My friend is down with typhoid, and is unfortunate to miss the trek; I am canceling his admission tomorrow evening at YHAI bangalore.

Me going for sarpass trek on 10th may.. im going from Mumbai on 7th may.... anybody else on same date???? if yes we can gather at Delhi and start journey to kasol together....

by 8th and rest a while before we report to bc on 9th.
good that we will walk up alltogether.it should be a nice journey
on foot thru the high mountain land.take care of your shoes/sole
as we might have to cross snow for a good length on crossing
the pass. meet u all at basecamp. bye.....
