I am planning to join the YHAI Sandakphu trek this November. I have question regarding things to pack. YHAI is recommending that I carry sleeping bag and water purifier tablets.
Can anyone who has trekked with YHAI to Sandakphu in the past can confirm the usefulness of sleeping bag and purifier tablets ? During the Dalhousie trek YHAI provided the sleeping bags and drinking water. Any other tips are welcome. Thanks ![]() |

You are lucky that YHAI told you to take a sleeping bag since they told us not to and most did not. Fortunately my friends and I did take it and found it was an absolute necessity since it could get very cold and enough blankets were never provided. People would even try sharing blankets and still would not be able to get warm enough.
While I did not take the water purifier tablets, you stay in very small lodges so it probably does make sense. You may also want to take along some snacks since while the trek is beautiful, a change in diet can sometimes be welcome. Enjoy... |

Thanks for the reply.
It helps in my planning for packing my bag. I did not want to carry unnecessary weight. So there will be water, but it is better to purify it, right ? |
