Where to trek in mid October?

I apologize for my ignorance on trekking in India. I will be flying into India (Delhi) on the 8th of October and hope to get trekking as soon as possible as I understand that the trekking season is nearly over. I'm not picky, basically I just want to get into the Himalayas, see some great views. I'm 28, in good shape and looking to work hard on the hike. If possible I'd love to climb above 5000m.

I do have some obstacles though. Namely, I don't have any of my own equipment and I'll be traveling alone. I tried to find some trekking companies online but they seemed exorbitantly expensive. I was quoted at roughly US$750 for 9 days going to roopkund.

Should I just head to Leh first or somewhere else?

Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.

You can try Goecha La in sikkim. October/November is the best time to trek there. And its 5000m too

Happy trekking

I think PINDARI REGION is fine, KINNER KAILASH CIRCUIT [ Strenuous ]is also possible besides BEAS KUND, HAMTA PASS,

ROOP KUND: I am of the view that this is high and remote- in case of one heavy snowfall...you may get trapped and topogrpahy of the area is certainly not good in such conditions-specially descending down from KALUA BINAYAK.
