Where to begin...

I would like to find out about trekking options in India and Pakistan but I don't know where to start. I would like long treks, like in Nepal- a couple of 20 something day treks would be perfect.
I will be trekking in the summer- I don't mind monsoons as long as it's not a huge safety concern eg: landslides. I am happy to go with a guided group if that's necessary or better.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

The question is too general, you need a guidebook, easily available in canada. The trailblazer ones are reliable. 20 days will allow the khumbu valley in nepal and the zanskar options in ladakh. Browse a bit and come back to us.

Also lonely planet books have all the main treks in, which as you want to do a twenty day hike you can join some of the treks together.Its also very good for transport and things to see and do.If you are a seasoned trekker you will find the very short distances strange, often only 10-15 k per day but you can obviously tailor the trek to your needs. By the way do you know that porters are really an economical option, most can act as guides and cook too. Happy trekking, Captain Kit.
