try Lansdowne or Kasauli

You can try going to Lansdowne....Take Mussoorie express in Night to Kotdwar...and then go to Lansdowne from there...

In Lansdowne you will find many small trails for trekking..

Like Bhairavgarhi, Tarkeshwar etc.

refer to a previous thread

My travelogue on Lansdowne

These are very gentle treks

For a bit strenous trek....

Go to Kalka and try trekking upto Kasauli...that again is a wondeful trek

the best place to go for will be Kalka-Kasauli trek.....

Go for it...

Morni hills is very beautiful , but more of a picnic spot...not exactly a trekking spot...

Laddakh is not a weekend destination....

You can reach there in a few hours by flight ....but acclimatization would take two odd days....

By road it will be at least three or four days. Laddakh is a wonderful place.....especially Leh and Alchi....but they are not exactly a trekking destination.......

There are long treks like that of Markha and then to Lamayuru they will take 8-10 days to do....and some professional help

From Morni hill one can take a hike to a lake, do some boating & return to Morni hill. One can also stay either in a tent or in the dormitory set up by Haryana Tourism next to the lake. The way to Morni hill passes thru a sanctuary, bird & nature watchers will thoroughly enjoy.

well, let us see.. if you start walking on a friday evening you'll make it as far as muzaffar nagar (past meerut) by Saturday evening.. ..and then after having a nice cup of sweet tea and aloo paranthas.. ..you can start walking back towards delhi.. ..so to be back here by Sunday evening..

..have a good night's sleep and join office fresh on Monday morning..

summary: you can trek to muzaffarnagar on a weekend..

Hi,
You can go to Haridwar by train and on to Rishikesh by bus. There you can trek for a day to Neelkanth. Do rafting for half a day and return to Delhi by Shatabdi Express which leaves haridwar at 1800 hrs. Else plan to visit Rajaji National Park and see if you are permitted to walk there. You may try Mussoorie and surroundings. Shimla is another place you can visit and trek around. Catch a friday night bus and reach Dharamsala and from there go upto Tirund and back. Catch night bus from Dharamsala and reach Delhi on Monday morning. All these without any breathing time. Do on long weekend. May be 26 to 28 Jan.
Visit himalayancamping for some info about long treks.

You have limited options as half of your time will be consumed by traveling only.

I think KASAULI and CHAIL were better options which you can do by well managed travel plan. These days you have trains and VOLVO for Chandigarh / SHIMLA.

Try this !
