Weather updates-Pindari trail+others

Hi

Just returned from this region after a week. Here are some updates:
-pwd/kmvn guest house after khati are closed
-at dhakuri the guest house are open
-temp at dhakuri on 29th nov was (-)6 degree
-temp at pindari is (-)10-12 degree
-on 27th there was snowfall in pindari
-weather is absolutely clear.
-baba who stays at pindari has came down and won't be staying there for this winter.
-there is some strike by forest deptt. and the checkpost at Binsar is closed, they are not allowing anyone to take their vehicle up to kmvn guest house. the strike started on 20th nov. is indefinite. as an alternate you can stay at Deenapani.

Good to see Nov weather info about Pindari Glacier area. Well the Babaji is supposed to be down before the snow closes the area. During 2004 winter due to unexpected snowfall the area got closed before Babaji could move out and so had to spend the winter there. Anyway Babaji is good and the place is beautiful.

Thanks for the upadates. Can you please post the pictures of your Pindari and Binsar trek? And also a write up?
And How far is Deenapani from Binsar? And what are the facilities available at Deenapani? Accomodation, hotels,transportation details etc.

wil try to post the pics shortly.
Deenapani is 8-10kms from almora, very small village. the kmvn guesthouse opened last year in july. fares are rs.1200- but at this time u will get 50%discount. you can view the whole range (right from your room's balcony) which is also visible from binsar (except panchanchuli).
another place i tried this year is Paldichina (near devaldhar estate), offers excellent view of nanda devi and others. how to reach: when you go to binsar from bageshwar, after 12kms is "paudi bend", if you take road to left you will reach binsar-almora. and right will also go to almora via paldichina, thru magnisium mines. but around 4:30pm the stretch around the mines is closed for abt an hour due to blasting. but problem is there is no place to stay at paldichina but if u r lucky you might stay at somebody's house, ask any shopkeeper and you might get accomodation (like i did).
