Verse - Phalut - Srikhola in january 3rd week

Four of us are goin on a trek from verse to Srikhola via singalia pass and phalut in january 3 rd week. Any ideas about how the weather is goin to be and if it is necessary to take a guide along that route?

in that time of the year there are chances of getting snow in that area. and the route is through dense forest so guide is must.

We are carrying a compass.we trying to get topo maps of that area. If we succeed getting one then we can navigate ourselves. I was enquiring if it is compulsory to take a guide?

Yes guides are a must. They have an union & you have to book your guide-cum-porters thru them. Also the route thru dense forest helps when a local is accopnaing you.
