We had a wonderful trip...trekked all the way..VOF, Hemkund, AULI..foot of Garson top, At Badrinath walked upto Charan paduka, on the way back trekked from Helang to Kalpeshwar and back. The kids did Govindghat to ghangaria..one way... and to and fro of the trek to kalpeshwar, rest on horseback and kandis. We faced pelting cold rains and foggy weather for the first4-5 days and then sunny to hot the rest of the time. Enjoyed the rain and the cold and very soon made ourselves at home in the moody mountain magic. There has been one major blemish though..not got over yet and praying very hard..v lost our Nikon camera with the most wonderful snaps each taken with care(350-380 snaps in all) at Devagram(urugam). It was outside a chai shop(Vikram Rawat's) where v sat and made some tang for the kids & us. My husband moved on with my rucksack and i assumed he'd taken the camera too but i didnt check the place...v discovered just a few minutes ahead that niether had it and ran back to not find it there. There were 3 people in the chaishop and around 6-7 YHAI who spoke to us when v were first going down a few minutes before..thats all..no other traffic. V enquired with every one but no results. We are very upset, placed a police complaint, been following up..till today thought it was the locals but the patwari rules them out and now it could be the Yhai folks. Praying for a miracle and a change of heart in whoever has it. Willing to buy it back from them. We are honest, hardworking folks and just want the photos back. So after trekking around 86km in all and seen and felt awesome sights our spirits are down right now. |

It is good to know that you are all back safely in Hyderabad, after a nice trek. I am indeed sorry to hear about the loss of your camera and photographs; I hope you get them back somehow.

It is sad that having enjoyed the wonderful trip you lost not only the camera but the memories and some of the captured moments. Be careful next time as you are not the only one with whom such incident happened.
