Valley of Flowers & Hemkund Sahib

Yea lets hope for the best !!!
We have vof-hemkund-badri-kedar in the itinerary !
Have no idea which place we may need to skip if the climate isnt favorable !

Just not to add more weight ! Do we need to carry jackets or a rainproof windcheater will do ? Is it gonna be too cold less than 10 degrees ?

Most IMers have mentioned about buying the ponchos at Joshimath or Govindghat or Ghangaria.
Keeping in mind We also have to travel to these places from Haridwar, its better to have a lightweight hooded-rainjacket.
(If not required, we can just wrap it around the waist)

Its a tough call to skip any of the places.
Hoping to see the sunshine and zero landslides.

Can not do rafting in the rainy season. Check the road and traffic condition in uttarakhand thread on this website before leaving from haridwar. Its really raining heavily in hills. sorry jitu bhai for trouble, i am still learning.

I would advise emailing them first, to ask if they'll send by post - that site hasn't been updated for years. Other than that, you should be able to get the map at bookshops in Haridwar or Rishikesh. Definitely in Dehradun if you're still headed that way.

Hi all,
I am also planning to visit VOF, Hemkund Sahib & Badrinath Aug 29 to Sep 5.
I am leaving Ludhiana on 28/29th Night, reach Rishikesh on 29th morning around 8am (If train is on time) and plan to reach Joshimath by bus the same day.
My query is that if I am not able to reach Joshimath where should I halt for night, Nandprayg or Karanprayg & how much time it will take to reach govindghat from that place.
Is anyone else planning the trip during the same time? We can join
