Treks In Himalaya

Hi People

Hopefully as before I can get some good advice from the people on this forum.

I am arriving Delhi and spending a week doing Varanasi, Agra, Delhi so will arrive Oct 7th / 8th ... Spending weeks and will go Shimla, Minali and Mcleod Ganj/Dharamsala and ending in Amritsar ...

I would like to hire/buy a motorbike in Manali and then drive through mountains to Amritsar ...

Is this doable?????

If not can anyone suggest some good trecks around Manali/Mcleod ganj .. Ideally lasting 2 - 3 days??

Thanks in advance

If you want to buy a bike. I would suggest you do it in Delhi. Better options available there.

Although personally speaking, riding from Manali to Amritsar doesn't sound all that enticing. Take a bus to Amritsar if you have to.

If you're getting a bike, take off from Manali and across the Rohtang pass into the other side to Lahaul Spiti. With just 2-3 days in hand you will just get a taste of the place and I will guarantee you will want to come back. Like me

I went there in 2006 without any idea of what the place was about, took a bike into Lahaul side, simply fell in love with the place.

Now I am being a little more ambitious and going for a trek in the Kinnaur region

Good luck with your plans.

Bikes on hire at Manali are usually in bad shape...

Hire from Delhi itself. Lalliji og Karol Bagh is a renowned man in this field.
