Question Treks from Manali

Hi All,

I am going to do some treks in Kulu Valley in late September. Still not sure if bringing own tent is advisable... Actually HP is to be only one part of my India experiences so my own tent would be a useless ballast for the rest of my trip.
Are there any existing campsites with tents put and ready to serve as a shelter? Manali and Kulu Valley are said to be the most popular trekking area in HP but what about accomodation during treks? Is bearing a tent the only option?
I am going to do the Beas Kund trek and Deo Tibba base trek from Manali after hiring a guide (and maybe renting a tent). Could you please recommend a reliable person as a guide or a place where to find such?

Any hints greatly appreciated.
Regards,
bardie

Hi,
I was surprised to see reply to a thread of 2005.
Though you have requested for the info from Bardie, you have not mentioned the time you are planning to trek in the area. I think it would be difficult for anyone to reply without time being known.
So let's have the time you want to trek.

Hi,
If I am not mistaken you would get all help from SAHARA. They do have tents. The charges only they would be able to tell. In case you have problem in getting through to them from the gnnp site, get back, so that some thing can be done.
Bye

Hi,
There was a mistake by me and I am sorry for that. It is GHNP and the website is www.greathimalayannationalpark .com. SAHARA is an NGO and the men of the villages around the National park are being used by the NGO to help in people trek in the Park and surrounding area so that they leave alone the Park and its animals. The office is located at Sai Ropa in Kulu Distt of HP. Visit himalayancamping.com for seeing pics of a trek to Srikhand Mahadev and Rakhundi top located in the Park.
Once again sorry.
VSK
