Treks around Gangotri
Treks around Gangotri
I am planning to trek to Gaumukh - Tapovan - Nandanvan - Vasuki Taal mid October. But knowing the weather, I may not be able to make it all the way.
Could anyone suggest some interesting treks that I could do around Gangotri as a back up?
I am with a team of 12, with some ladies and kids.

In Mid october, i cant even suggest Kedartal. You can rather try your luck with Shastratal. This trek starts near Malla village and its almost a 10 days trek to shastra tal and back.
1995-till date: Saraswati Valley(Dweep Tal, Saraswati Tal, Ratakona, Jagraon), Auden's Col, Khatling Glacier, Mayali Pass, Patangini Dhar, Pin Parvati Pass, Kalindi Pass, Ronti Saddle, Mt. Yunum(Aborted), Kedar Tal, Roopkund, Junargali pass, Sundardhunga Valley, Tapovan, Rudranath, Chandrashila peak, Beas Kund, Triundh, Chudhar peak,Dodital.

Thanks for the tip on Kedartal and Shastratal. Could you give me a more detailed outline on these two treks with Day 1, Day 2 worked out? I would like a realistic picture from you rather than what I see online.
