Trekking the Hampta Pass mid october

Hi there

I want to do a trek in around 5 days in Manali area from 14th to 18th of october - is this a bit late (even risky due to possible snowfall) or perfect :-)

I think the most interesting one seems to be Prini to Chatru over the Hampta Pass, but has anybody experience from Naggar to Jari (Chandrakani Pass & Malana trek) and will convince me it's better?

How long time does it take to get from Chatru to Manali when we come back from the trek.

Has the bad wheather recently ruined the road to Manali making it a longer trip in bus? Does the super deluxe coach from Delhi with Himachal Pradesh Tourism Developement Corporation still take around 15 hours?

Should u bring water for the entire trip along or is there water along the way that can be boiled og otherwise purified?

Are the paths easy to follow or do you need a detailed guide as is available on the Annapourna circuit. (is this availeble for this trek? can u get it in Manali? or is LP trekking in indian himalayas + a detailed map good enough?)

Could you do the trip in reverse hiring a 4WD to get to Chatru in order to avoid problems getting back to Manali from Chatru if the bus from Kaxa over the Kunzum pass isn't running.

If u think mid october is a bit late is there other places in HP or UP (or UR) where u can get to on a overnight bus from Delhi and where there is a super trekkingroute for appr. 5 days (and of course where mid october is prime trekking season as in Nepal).
