Really really see ??? The mountains?? Snow and all???

Head for Uttaranchal or Himachal. No permits required most places. You can go right now

I woupld go there but I already have a plane ticket to bagadora. i intially thought the permits wouldn't be a problem because i had talked with ALTITUDE TOURS AND TRAVELS and they had told us that they would arrange everything. We had told them outright that we were one foreigner and one indian and they never told us getting the permit would be a problem. now at the last minute they told us it may not be possible to get the permit and that it all depends on whether or not we can find another foreinger to join our group. Now I don't have much hope that this will happen because the company is refusing to answer any of my phone calls.

but another tour company told me the central government just started up a program in sikkim for May 1-31st where they take groups of up to 30 people on a 9 day trek - so i may just do that but the thought of trekking with 30 people is not so appealing. it would be more like a mass exodus through the mountains than a trek!

Cheers.
