Trekking Pahalgam to Sonamerg

Hi I am going to be in srinagar for 2 wks I was wondering if anybody has trekked Pahalgam to Sonamerg? do you need any kind of permit and also any information on hireing of trekking gear (tents guides etc), any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Jagjit, any idea how long will it take and can u get all supplies like sleeping bags etc at Pahalgam and about permit from army/police I will be in Srinagar from Aug 7

It seems Jagjit/sunny disappeared twice already, my original query still is information about the logistic support for this trek. One of the quote for this trek has been Rs.3500/day/person for 3 days, it does not sound too Kosher to me, but then again I don't have too much information about the cost these days. Any input would be well come.
