trekking out of Mcleod Ganj

Has anyone done the indrahar trek out of mcleod (to machetar)?
I am planning on doing it alone but have been told that the route-finding could be tricky though it must be said that the person who told me this was a trek organiser and was probably very keen to organise a guide for me!
so, if anyone has done this trek and can tell me how they found it i would appreciate any info (i'm also planning on doing it without a tent)

thanks...K

I am told Triund is a good trekking point in Dharamsala.

One also trek to the snow point in the Dhauladhar ranges.

My Dear, thou art being takenth for multiple rides.

If your organizer tells you that the Indrahar Pass trek can be done without a tent please drop him like the proverbial hot potato.... if you want to come out of it hale and hearty.

One foreigner was rescued by helicopter from the route in July 2005 ONLY because she was related to the Canadian Consul General... i don't think everyone will be that lucky.

The indrahar pass trek is do-able... with full trekking gear, guide and tent and whatever. The route closes around 15th Sept to 30th Sept .... you are a tad late for this year...

Yes, there is a bus going from Chamba to Machhetar.... you will not be compelled to take a tent on this route.

Yes, I have done this trek. Three times. 1st time in 1983.

Okay, my Lord and Master; I shall cease and desist from posting on your threads.
