Trekking in Himalayas..April/ May 2011

Hi Guys,

Myself, my wife and my 10 yr old kid want to go on a Himalayan trek this April/ May. We are not first timers as we have experience of a 9 days trek in 2009 to Dodital from Kalyani in Gadhwal. We are looking for a moderate 7-9 day trek and encounter snow for 1/2 days (snow is a must!). Would you suggest Milam glacier from Munsiyari?. Will we get snow there at the top towards May first week?. Also any good trek operators you would suggest. We are ok with a group organised trek as well as a customised one as well...looking forward to your replies and suggestions!.Any other trek suggestions apart from Milam also welcome.. Cheers.

you can do panwali kantha, Kunwari Pass, har ki doon, dodi+darwa+dayara trek.. these are best if you ar accompanied with your wide & son

Hey Tilak, Thanks a lot for making us feel welcome in this forum!..Thanks also for your siggestions..shall explore those, but what about the condition of encountering snow?. Any of those we shall get snow line in May 1st week?...also any suggestions on operators/ groups?...Thanks again!

I think you can hope to find snow in May 1 week in Pindari,Milam. There are not many treks that qualify your requirements so I would suggest gather no of local guides for all these places and contact them a week or so before your intended trekking dates to get exact conditions. Also keep visiting this forum as many would be doing treks in that duration and you would get first hand info.
I for one will be going to any one from Milam/NDBC/Panchahuli/Sundardhunga in April last week (hopefully)so I too might have some info then.
