Post Trekking in Dec

Hi. I have just been recommended by a friend about this forum. I have my annual leaves from 26th dec to 3rd jan and would like to do a week trek at himalayas with some breath taking snow walks and some photography. I would like a moderate level trek of 4000 ft to 5000 ft. Is there any options available to trek at a moderate budget. Would you know if any group is planning during these dates and gr8ful if you can help me accomodate in such a group. Thanks & Regards, Amit Sankrani

At first I suggested PINDARI REGION but your leaves are short. I am sure you will find someone going in Dec. for trekking.
I do not know---I feel you have too short time for himalayas. Even if you fly from Mumbai to Delhi and try to run for mountains....much of your time is spent in traveling only.

Dec. in himalayas is colder and prone to FOG/SNOW/RAIN and in tight time schedule ...I think trekking in mountain seems to be touch-and-go like thing.

Thanks for response, but this is how my work life is.. I have waited the whole year without taking much leaves just to plan a trek during december. If I begin on 26th also I would have 7 days to trek?? Wouldnt that be enough to cover a glacier route.. Lets see if anyone else pops up into this forum..
Would you have the cost details for this Pindari Dhakuri pass route for a per person basis. I also dont want to carry any tents, sleeping bags and ration. If this can be available for hire at the base camp, would be gr8.. Your advice again shall be appreciated..

You can try Nepal. You could trek from Pokhara to Ghorapani and back in 5 days or the Ghandrung loop in 4 days Pokhara- Birethanti-Ghandrung-Landrung-Phedi-Pokhara. The heights are moderate, the trails are open in winter and you can stay at the lodges
