Trekking gear in Joshimath
We are party of 2 persons. We are interesting of doing a 5 days trek in Nanda Devi sanctuary, leaving from Joshimath.
We will bring with us a tent and 2 sleeping bags. We would like to know please- how do we arrange all the other stuff- specially cooking gear- what kind of coking gear we will need? How do we arrange that? Where will the guide/porters going to sleep? Do we need water for all the 5 days in advance? We will appreciate any help. Thanks. nero,
What time you want to do this? What is your budget per day per person? are you planning to take a guide and porter along with you? It's not a problem in Joshimath to find them. Ask them to arrange cooking utensils and other requirements. They should be able to do it. If you want to go thru a trekkking agence, they will provide everything from Joshimath onwards. Why don't you spenda day in Joshimath asking for a reliable guide...Mr Kundan singh should be able to help you. Otherwise go to Lata village and hire guide and porters from there. Contact Mr. Dhan Singh Rana or Mr Raghubir Singh. Certainly they will arrange things. More than that you will be helping the villagers directly in their eco tourism efforts. |
