Try Bhagwan Singh, shop is in chirag delhi. phone:9350225713.
You will get sleeping bags, tents, mat, sack
You have to deposit the full cost+rent in advance.
Just to give you an idea for two people 7-8 days trek to pindari the rent will be around Rs.1000.

Lalaji What did you get in Rs 1000: Sleeping bags, Mats, Sack and Tent?? What kind of a tent was it 2man or 3 man. The rates seem fairly reasonable

thanks

I rented from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation 4 years ago. Equipment was old but ok. Can't remember prices though.

Have been there today.
They have nothing in stock in this office, they will need a day to get it from their warehouse.
They told me it is imported stuff, therefore expensive and not a good idea if you want to use it eg just one time.

Then there is Trekkers Point in Plaza Cinema Hall (1st floor) at Connaught Place.
They have sleeping bags and mats, Jackets, tents, shoes, some hats, headlights, rain ponchos, trekking sticks...
But NO fleece pullovers oder pullovers at all and trousers.
Bought a sleeping mat for 300rs and a rain poncho for 600rs.

they have some dutch and italian brands

3) Zanskar

They also have the korean tent; mainly in swiss tents business u can get some good stuff ; they copy the foreign design and make their own cheap version.
http://www.eindiabusiness.com/zanska...oor-equipment/
I purchased a lafuma style rucksack in 700 ..all i can its a good value for money..working fine

4) If you are renting from Carabin just check ..we rented 4 men tent ..without checking and when we opened in baggubasa firstly it was a 3 men ..secondly it has a cut which bring cold air inside...

I use this watch which has altimeter/barometer/thermometer/compass from La Crosse from $68
http://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technol...0776860&sr=8-1
its good ..the altitude shown is accurate to +/- 50 meters , i tested in sikkim and roopkund

Just my luck - I bought a Lafuma sleeping bag from Adventure 18 and my advise would be "Please do not rely on the temperature tag on them. Mine said -3, but i felt shit cold at 4"

Stikage in Kamla Nagar

Nice shop with all the stuff you need. I was looking for fleece stuff and easily found it. Also trousers that were my size (i am over 1,90 metres).
Opening times: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM

7-UB, Jawahar Nagar-Kamla Nagar, Delhi-110007 India
Phone: 91 11 23850036, 23850026 Telefax: 91 11 23850026
Mobile: Surender Sonik- 9810025536 / Ravi Sonik- 9868064114
Web site: http://www.stikage.com email: stikage@yahoo.com

Its a bit difficult to find (at least for me): the 7 UB building is between McDonalds and a Coffee Day (isnt it sad that i just remember the western style shops?) and the trekking shop is on the backside of this building in a small street.
