Trekking agencies for Kuari Pass

We are 2 people planning to do the Kuari Pass trek in October starting from Ghat to Josimath/Auli. Is it possible to arrange the trek / find a guide in Ghat or is it better to do it in Rishikesh?

Also, can someone recommend good reputable agents / guides for this trek? Any indication of typical (reasonable) costs would also be helpful.

Many thanks.

AlpineStar holidays operate from Rishikesh. I havent done any trek but my experience for white water rafting was excellent with them.Their website is http://alpinestarholidays.com. Last year we planned Kuari Pass trek put couldn't go. This is what they were offering me.

Cost :RS 15000/per pax (economy trip)
Cost :Rs 22000/per pax (standard trip)

Note: Above rates apply for groups only ( minimum of 30 )

The cost includes:
# All Accommodation on sharing basis in alpine tents/hotels.
# Guide & porter charges.
# All meals.(veg), Tea/Coffee.
# Transportation.(During the trip)

Cost does not include:
# Cost incurred on personal nature likle telephone calls, camera fees, film rolls, mineral water, cold drinks etc.

Otherwise there is one agent in Joshimath , Mr. Ajay Bhatt. His mobile no. is 9412082247. He was recommended to me by my friend. I think he will offer you much better rates. Generally, Trekking agencies at Rishikesh charge very high .
