Hi,
I along with 3 more friends was planning to do Roopkund from 27th. We would be willing if anyone wishes to join us or invites us to join them!!! :-)
Also, I need some help regarding contact info of guides. I have phone number of about 3-4 guides through blogs and Indiamike threads, but most of those are not reachable!!
Our itinerary is like this..
26th May: Drive to Loharjung from Delhi or take a taxi from Kathgodam to reach Lonharjung the same day if we manage to get reservation in Train.
27th onwards: As advised by the guide!!
3rd June: Reach Delhi

9411564578 Narendra
09968178496 or 09350998996 Mohan Singh
Devendra Prasad, Khati Village. 05963219300, 91 9410049694

Few hours back, I spoke to Narendra. He told me that the weather is pretty bad there and there is a lot of snow on way to Roopkund. It might not even be possible for me to reach all the way to Roopkund in end of May!!!!

Also, 2 groups are already on there way to Roopkund. I will talk to him again once those groups reach back Loharjung to find out the actual status of the trek!!!

@Commando, I just spoken to our guide yesterday. He told me that weather is not that good now. He just returned from a trip. Still there is heavy snow. He suggested to bring good shoe and clothing.

Thanks Straphenger for your little bit of advice and best of lucks for your upcoming trek . I will be eagerly waiting for your updates for you will be 2 days ahead of us when we will start on 4th of jun .I am not happy how the weather God is playing with our plans and Its really a cause of concern now with so much snow coming in to ruin all our plans. Hope some respite will come during 1st week of Jun .

I pray for All and wishes them a very best of lucks to successfully complete their trek to roopkund this season and for my trek too .

Hi snowhill!

First of all, I am not member of Indiahikes. Personally, with all due respect to everyone, I dont like this tour operator kinda thing, specially on trekking.

Well, the info source is same as already stated by "abhijitmitra".
I believe this is some kind of text or twit from mobile.

I talked to our guide, he told me that there is snow and lot of them. If you can remember winter was bit prolonged this year. we are staring on the 3rd June. I think snow will be lot cleared by that that time. Senior IMers, can you guys shed some light on this?
