Question Trek to Gangotri, Tapovan & Nandanvan

Hi,

I'm a new member to this IndiaMike family and I am from Kolkata, India. I am planning a trek this July end to the Gangotri, Tapovan area along with one of my friends. Can someone help me with the following -
1. Is July end a good time to go for trekking in that region? I am worried about the monsoon rains.
2. Will I get to walk on and touch snow during this time of the year there?
3. Where from will I be able to do all my bookings viz. porter/guide, tents, vehicle etc. I have seen many threads on this here, but I am not sure if they contain up-to-date info.

Thanks in advance.

1. July end is a good time. Rains are not very heavy unless you are unlucky.

2. Ample snow Tapovan and Nandanvan

3. Supplies available at Uttarkashi, porters & guide at Gangotri and Uttarkashi.

Happy Trekking

Thanks for all the info. It seems like there may be rain during this time of the year.
Can anyone help me with any other trek option during this month-end where "there is ample snow to touch and play with". I plan to leave Kolkata on the 25th of July for this trip.
