Tour company/ guide for Private Chopta trip and trek

Hi
Wondering if you know a reliable tour company that can do a private trip + trek for 4 days to Chopta for a single female
I am recovering from a back issue, and dont want to take the chance of trekking with a group and holding people back

Also all reports suggest this is fairly easy grade is a trek. Is that reality?

thanks much
Stuthi

Check Great Indian Outdoors website. Good organization and guides. You dont have to worry about anything.I have done my Roopkund trek with them. They will arrange everything ex Delhi.

saugatad: Thanks for this info and links. Their snow-trek to Chopta 25-28 Dec-08 sounds interesting. Will there be snow for sure then?

Anybody done this trek in that time frame? Any views on that?? - KS

I am doing this trek in Dec 1st Week..there will be snow from Chopta upwards(its almost 3000m)..In fact getting to Chandrashila would be challenging.
I assume the area would be getting its first snowfall sometime around now.
Can anyone confirm on that?

Me too

Even,I may plan for this..still not confirmed due to finance Issues..But I am very much intrested..

I think, the rate quoted by GIO is pretty high...My guess is thhis can be done with 6000 rs per head ( H to H ).

Let's see.

Varun - Do share your experience once you are back.

I just returned from a short trip of Tungnath and Chandrashila..
Chopta is situated at a height of 2750m,this is what my casio watch measured..From Chopta to Tungnath(3400m) is 3.5km.Tungnath get closed after the festival of Diwali...High possibility of snow from Chopta onwards.
Chandrashila is 1 km from Tungnath...
Chopta can easily be reached by road..The trek from Chopta to Tungnath is simple.

Your estimate is quite right.
One should not necessarily need a operator to do this trek.
As tents are not a necessity per se.
I have posted my iternary over here..

Absolutely no camping gear.
Have arranged for accomodation and guide in Chopta who also said we could get accomodation @ Sari for deoriyatal.

From Haridwar or rishikesh we are hoping to get a bus to ukhimath .Otherwise we would be going to rudraprayag by bus and catch a shared jeep from there to ukhimath.
