Yes Sir, I AM SURE .This is Rathong. Kabru is situated on right-hand side but not visible in the picture (12x zoom can blowup the subject but sorry I didn’t take the panoramic view so unable to provide Rathong and Kabru in same frame.) but I’ll post another pic with kabru, kanchenjunga and black kabru in foreground. OK?

Thanks,
Somnath

Tibetan geographic tradition talks of the four mouths , the sources of the four Kailash/Kang Rinpoche rivers :

Langchen kahabab , the elephants mouth, Sutlej.
Sengye khabab, the lions mouth, Indus.
Mapcha khabab, the peacock´s mouth, Ganges (tradition , not reality )
Tachok khabab, the horse´s mouth, Brahmaputra

11. Surely the mountains are older, the rivers would form from the meltwater of their glaciers.

12. 80 million years - the Jurassic period.

13. The mountains were formed by the colliding continental plates of Central Asia and the Subcontinent and continue to rise.

14. Perhaps the Gobi Dessert?

Thumbs up Some rivers are older...

Sutlej, Kali Gandaki, Bramhaputra are supposed to be geologically older, which is why they supposedly kept on cutting [eventually deep] gorges into the rising continental mass that was named the Himalaya....

11 A: AT got it right, rivers are older
12 A: 65 million years
13 A: TQ got that – crumpling of continental plates and tectonic collusion.
14 A: Pamir – roof of the world was formerly the sea of tethys.
