Hi Kiran,

Thanks a lot for your feedback .... I am glad you liked my travel website. And for sharing the web-link with your friends.

I am particularly keen to share my trek experiences with people who are in love with the mountains, nature and trekking.

Though in the general population people going to Trek in the Himalayas are a minority ... most people do like to see pictures of snow-covered mountains

... KS

Dear srinivasan,
I liked your travel website immensely. By the way, I also hold the same view as mentioned in paras 1 & 2 of your prelude. I hope to use your travel website for planning trips to Kumaon in coming Oct/Nov and hopefully for Hampi in Feb 08.

Thanks and regards,

Sadanand

Sadanand,

I am glad you liked my website... hope it is useful for planning your trip. Hope you saw my webpage of Hampi. A place I liked immensely. I would recommend you read History of Hampi in detail on the web and then go and see the ruins.

Welcome to clear any doubts you have .... though I am off today .... Via Delhi, Haridwar,Rishikesh, Rudraprayag etc ... to Badrinath (Uttarnchal) and then hopefully trek to Valley of Flowers / hemkund and fianlly reach Munisyari for Milam trek on 15th May

..... KS

Chaukori, Munsiyari
Binsar
Kausani
Mukhteshwar

Mukhteshwar, and then Binsar and Kausani are closer to railheads/plains.

Sorry for joining late. My favourite views are from Sikkim, the Thanggu valley at the foot of Kangchengyao (aka Gyao Kang) with a fantastic 360 view all the way to Sioniolchu and Kangchenjunga.

Ladakh is also great, but it takes some time until the barreness sinks in where in Sikkim the tall mountains leave a lasting impression at first glance.

I tend to agree .... the most raw mountain scenery is in Sikkim's Kanchenjunga ranges .... see pics attached of kanchenjunga at sunrise and when the moon setting on the the kanchenjunga range terrain..... is pretty awsome ... KS

I think (1) Binsar gives a very panoramic view of whole range, particularly form the observation tower in the Forest Rest House .... and next (2) I found the views of Himalayas from Choubhatiya (near and up from Ranikhet) also excellent. Sept/Oct are best months for a cloudless view of peaks.

I was there in 2003 and did Harang Ghatti pass. I was planning this one too but the flash flood and damage changed all that. Is it possible to do this solo?

Need your opinion. Thanks.
