Thadiyandamol Experiences Hi, Tried a few different spelling variations, but didn't find too much about this on this forum. I'm making a short trip to Coorg in the coming weeks. Trekking isn't my focus, but I've been keen on a couple of homestays near Thadiyandamol. I've been told by the owner of one estate that a trip to the peak and back is do-able alone with a map he would provide. But I didn't want to just take his word for it. Anyone have any experience with this short trek that they can share? I'm a solo traveler and fit- not really intimidated by the physical exertion of the walk. But I have very little trekking experience. I have no plans to camp or anything. Just to start off in the morning, ascend, and walk back. I'd prefer not to hire a guide if this walk is do-able solo for someone like me. Thanks.

Google gives tadiandamol as the right spelling. I too have heard that this trek is doable with only moderate difficulty. Part of the route is motorable. Leave early to avoid the hot middle of the day.

Thanks. and yeah, I think the homestays I've looked into are right up at the point where you can motor to anyway. So has anyone else done this walk/trek? I've read many accounts through google search, but they are all groups that have gone. Just want to see if it is indeed safe (which is the impression I'm getting) to go it alone.

Thanks. I took a look at the .pdf but at the moment I'm focused more on tadiandamol because of its home stay proximity.

I have been to Tadiandamol last summer. The Trek is doable. It would be a long trek so its better to start early in the morning. You have to carry water and food, since nothing would be available at the top. A lot of people trek, so there should not be a problem traveeling alone. The view from the peak is mind-boggling... All the Best !!!

Hi...its a v easy trek...except for last half hour which is bit steep. The peak is v cool compared to all the way & it was inside clouds when I'd been there (Mar'07). Also don't miss sitting on the cliff to get a glimpse of the valley on the other side of mountain.
