Taking kid on pindari trek
How safe is it to take a 2.5 year kid on pindari glacier trek. He would be using pony or pittu.

Hi,
hearing nice to take yours kid to pindari glacier.Try to take pitu because riding on the poney is tough for children so take porter for that. Took worm cloth for that because after Phurkya its cold. |

Well it should not be a problem if the child can manage cold and height. Use KMVN for stay on the trail and hire a porter from Song to carry the kid.
All the best.

How you can ask when you are at yours home. Its depand on Child but we can give advise because you know very well that if you are not walking & riding in poney then cold effect emiditly. As regarding KMVN confirm from Bageshwer that time they had their own groups or not if they have own group they book PWD rest house from Bageshwer,If any problam the ask to Hayat Singh at Dhakuri,Roop singh at Khati,Dham singh at Dwali , Hayat singh at Phuri & Swami Dharmand at Pindari Zero Point.

The pindari route is one of the best trekking routes you will ever get to see. however, it might just be a bit too much for 2.5 year old kid. Try contacting Vinod Singh kalakoti. he was my guide during the trip to dhakuri this winter. Contact details here: http://almoraboy.blogspot.com/2006/0...formation.html He might be able to give you a better description of the conditions on the route right now. The condition of the route (this jan) can be seen here: http://almoraboy.blogspot.com/2008/0...i-pindari.html As you can see in some of the pics, the elder villagers are also travelling via pony.
