Suggestions for 2-3 days trek in altitudes higher than 2500 Mts, preferebly in snow

I am into business with my dad. My business requires me to be on toes 24X7X360.

As you might make it out, I just have 5 days on hand every year to have fun.

I live in a town nearby to ahmedabad. I am fond of trekking, especially in altitudes above 2500 Mts. I love to trek in snow.

Please suggest some destination that I can visit in 4-5 days and be back. Budget is moderate. I would prefer 2 days for travelling T0 & FRO and a 3 day trek would be sufficient.

Question Which time of the year?

It all depends on which time of the year you are going to trek? also if you give your time from Delhi - Delhi it would be better to plan. Will you go alone? or do you have a group?

Hi Arjun,

My fitness is fine. Budget is moderate. June-July is fine but September would be better i think.

Give me outlines of your program if you have worked out the same.

3 days trekking

Hi,
If I am correct you want to do snow trek. Well, then Sep is not the time. Also 5 days, A to A is too less for a Snow trek. try and workout some more time to do some trekking.

Wink

Take Matheran / Mahabaleswar instead. There are many trails (day pack enough. For reaching to snowfield for trek that with a moderate budget...seems tough.

Dear Kothari Textile

Is it true what Jyoti says, that you have only 5 days Ahmd - Ahmd? Then forget Roopkund.

Roopkund will take 7-8 days of trekking alone. Add going and coming. Can you manage the time?

You can also think of Tapovan. It'll take 4 days ex-Gangotri.

Hi,
Its alreays snowing in himalaya and you can take a quick trip to Auli above joshimath or Dodital near Uttarkashi.
All this if you have not utilised your 05 days of fun time.

hi KT,
u can try out chopta (lies in rudraprayag district, close to the chamoli district border). from the local newspaper reports on dainik jagran's website, chopta is already snowbound. u can also try out kedarkanta peak above sankri village in uttarkashi district. i have put lots of pics of these places in my blog. u can check it out over there.

if u want to get the info of any driver in garhwal, then u can contact a guy named jagdish sing negi. his contact info is also given on my blog.

both places r really too good - saying so from personal experience
