Mountain is calling!! Dare to Challange .
|
The Mountaineers Association of Krishnanagar (MAK) has successfully done the summit of Thalaysagar or Fating Pithwara peak (22651 ft) in Garhwal Himalaya on 1st Sepetmber 2008 at 7:50 AM.
This is the first recorded successfull attempt to Thalaysagar by any Indian team (from Bengal ).The team leader is Mr. Basanta Singha Roy. There was 9 members in the team - Basanta Singha Roy (leader), Ashoke Roy, Tapan Roy, Ajay Bhattacharya, Subrata Brambha, Bijay Sarkar, Biswanath Saha, Asim Mondal, Ranjan Kumar and 4 Sherpas. They established first camp near Kedar Tal at 15300 ft on 16th August, 3 days load ferry, 2nd camp at 16000 ft on Vrigupanth Glacier on 20th August, 3rd camp at 17500 ft on 23rd August, 4th or summit camp at 21000 ft on 28th August and summit on 1st September. They used 4000 meters of ropes to find way and reach the summit . |

Congratulations to the team !...as they used large no. of ropes I guess this must be very technical peak to climb ...would love to see some pics if you have any...

On the same line ...just three days back three members (out of total four members team) from Giripremi organization Pune successfully summited technically tough Srikanta peak 6140 Meter(20145 ft) ..team yet to reach back to road head.
