Spiti valley trek - Homestays
Spiti valley trek - Homestays
Hello friend,
We have planned a Spiti valley trek from Aug 9th to 20th 2012 (Mumbai to Mumbai). Plan goes like this -
9th afternoon - Start from Mumbai
10th afternoon - Reach Delhi
11th morning - Reach Manali by road
11th eve - Reach Kaza by road
12th whole day - Kaza
13th morning - start a trek for Komic. Stay @ komic
14th morning - start a trek for Demul. stay @ Demul
15th morning - start a trek for Lhalung. Stay @ Lhalung
16th morning - start a trek for Dhankar. Stay @ Dhankar
17th morning - Dhankar to Manali by road. Stay @ Manali
18th evening - Start for Delhi
19th morning - Delhi
20th morning - Mumbai
Experts, please let us know if this sounds good.
We wanted suggestions about -
1) Good homestays @ Kaza, Komic, Demul, Lhalung, Dhankar (just clean rooms are enough). IF ANYBODY HAS PHOTOS of rooms, it would be great :-) (since good/bad is so relative :-))
2) Approx tariff of homestays
3) Any idea about bird-life of the area (I can carry my camera gear accordingly)
4) Altitude sickness - I read from some other threads that slow/ steady height gain is a key... medicines are not the best ways to deal with it (and this sounds logical :-)). But in case, we have to, what tablets should we carry???
Thanks a lot in advance !! :-)
