Smelly...
Last summer in Ladakh, a 'friend' of mine went for a whole 11 days without washing.
Can any other readers beat that? PS I had to share a room with this dope for a couple of days, it was not a pleasant experience.

Yuk. Why, they had no showers or bucket water or something?

A person I was hanging out with a few years ago was well over a month without bathing and it showed to.
I remember having lunch outdoors with him and I was like "do you smell something really sour in the air" and he was like "that's probably me I haven't bathed in over a month". And it wasn't like he didn't have a hot shower to use or anything. The last thing I said to him as he was leaving was "man please just take a bath" ![]() |

There were showers, bucket hot water was available - this bloke just went feral. I have hardly spoken to him since (for other reasons as well).
It was truly disgusting! Indiamike - that's even worse! At least this was in Ladakh where the climate was dry! |

sounds like a candidate for the Ricki Lake show...
I had read about someone's account of a trip in Ladakh in the winter... He said that the toughest part of the trip was sitting next to a rich Zanskari woman with all her fineries....nicely 'embalmed' with the sheep oil......does anyone know what it smells like? |

To answer your question RTP, no I can't beat this as I've only travelled with my wife but I've casually met a few male travellers who seemed a bit "ripe".
Most Indians will forgive foreign visitors their "cultural" mistakes but being smelly and wearing clothes that haven't been washed for weeks are not two of them. They reason, rightly, that foreign tourists have access to water for personal cleanliness and can afford to send their clothes to a laundry or wash them themselves. Apart from being unpopular with other foreign travellers they certainly won't be a hit with the locals! |

I'm with you 100% Alan D!
Smelly traveller really wind me up! MountainGirl - I would certainly agree the particular individual is most certainly a candidate for the Ricky Lake Show! |
